1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how VacayForge (operated by [Legal Entity Name], “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, apps, and related services (the “Service”).

VacayForge helps people discover, create, and share realistic day-by-day vacation itineraries. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile

When you sign in (for example with Google or X), we receive identifiers and profile information from that provider as permitted by your settings with them (such as name, email address, and provider account ID). You may also provide:

  • Username, display name, bio, website link, and avatar photo
  • Profile and default trip visibility preferences (public, friends, or private)

Content you create or share

We store content you submit to the Service, including:

  • Trips (itineraries), days, stops, notes, ratings, and links
  • Photos and other media you upload
  • Comments, reviews, saves, follows, and friend relationships
  • Notifications related to social activity (for example friend requests)

Usage and technical data

  • Basic usage signals needed to run the product (for example trip view counts)
  • Optional booking/affiliate click events when you use “Book” or similar outbound links (to measure partner referrals)
  • Authentication and session data (including cookies or similar technologies) provided through our infrastructure partners
  • Standard device and log information as needed for security, debugging, and performance (for example browser type or approximate request metadata)

Maps and place search

When you search for destinations or places, your search queries and related map interactions may be processed by our mapping providers (such as Google Maps / Places) so we can show maps, suggestions, and locations on itineraries.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Create and display your profile, trips, and social features
  • Honor visibility settings (public, friends-only, or private where available)
  • Authenticate you and protect accounts and content
  • Communicate about the Service (for example important account notices)
  • Measure and improve features, reliability, and safety
  • Support optional affiliate booking links and related attribution when that feature is enabled
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

4. How we share information

Content you choose to make visible

Published public trips and public profiles can be viewed by others, including people who are not signed in. Content shared as friends-only is intended for accepted friends. Private trips are intended only for you. Visibility depends on your settings and the technical controls we implement; do not post secrets you need to keep confidential.

Service providers

We use trusted companies to help run the Service, including:

  • Infrastructure and database providers (for example Supabase) for authentication, data storage, and media storage
  • Mapping and places providers (for example Google) for maps, geocoding, and place search
  • Sign-in providers (for example Google or X) when you choose those options

These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies when you interact with them directly.

Booking and affiliate partners

If you click a booking or affiliate link (for example hotels, flights, or activities), you leave VacayForge and go to a third-party site. Those partners may receive information about the click and any booking you make with them. Their privacy practices govern that relationship. We may receive limited attribution or commission data related to those referrals.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or respond to lawful requests by authorities.

Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies primarily to keep you signed in, secure the Service, and remember basic preferences. We do not operate a separate advertising cookie suite on the Service today. If we add analytics or marketing tools later, we will update this policy as appropriate.

6. Your choices

  • Update profile information and visibility settings in the Service
  • Choose who can see individual trips when you publish (where available)
  • Unfollow creators, manage friends, and remove content you control
  • Delete your account in Settings (where available), which is intended to remove associated personal data from active systems subject to legal retention needs and backup cycles

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example access, correction, or deletion). We will respond to valid requests as required.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete content or your account, we aim to remove it from active systems within a reasonable period; residual copies may remain briefly in backups.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including through cloud and mapping providers. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, when changes are material, provide additional notice as appropriate. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
